World Cup Maribor Live

This weekend, January 16^th and January 17^th, Saturday and Sunday will be some thrilling Alpine Skiing action with the World Cup Maribor, another of the Winter Sport World Cup events held throughout the Winter months. Besides the World Cup competitions,which are held every year, there are also World Championship events, usually held every two years, and then of course the Winter Olympic Games. This year is the year for the Winter Olympics and they will be held in Vancouver, Canada.

Alpine Skiing was named for Skiing down the Alps, a group of mountains in Europe and the event started with Cross Country Skiing. The sport is also known at Downhill Skiing and it consists of Slalom, Giant Slalom, Super Giant Slalom and downhill events.
