World Cup Zagreb Sljeme Live

Sunday, January 3^rd and Wednesday January 6^th will be the World Cup Zagreg Sljeme, which takes place for Alpine Skiing in the middle of other Winter sport World Cup events. Alpine skiing is also called downhill skiing and is a sport that has a deep history in the Winter sports. The main difference in this and Nordic Skiing is that the bindings on the skis are fixed at the heel, while the Nordic skis allow movement. The sport is so called after the Swiss Alps which sees a great deal of downhill skiing during the season.

Skiers compete in the Slalom, Super Slalom, Giant Super Slalom and the downhill competitions. Slalom is the most technical of the four, but the fastest sport in this category is the downhill skiing in which competitors can reach speeds of 100 kilometers per hour. Each year this and other winter sports are held in World Cup events as well as the Winter Olympics hosting Alpine Skiing events.
