The Malaysia Open Grand Prix will take place from Johor Bahru, Johor in Malaysia. This is the Malaysia Open GP Gold, and its June 23rd to the 28th. The draws are in, and this will be the last of the four Super Series weekends with Lee Chong Wei and Taufik Hidayat having a chance to face each other, having faced off in the Indonesian Super Series Men's Final.

The beginning of the tournament will put Lee Chong Wei against Zi Liang Derek Wong from Singapore, while Hidiyat will start against China's Chen Long. One to watch is Saina Nehwal, who has had an excellent season, seeded number two in the Ladies Singles Competition, while Eei Hui Chin and Pei T ty are the Malaysian pair that are seeded number one in the Ladies doubles. Nehwal got her place in the quarters after defeating Thailand's Intanon Ratchanok just a week earlier. These two players have an automatic bye into round two which will take place on Thursday evening. The qualifying will begin on Tuesday, with the main draws on Wednesday.

The previous event on the National Calendar was the National Junior Circuit Finals held in Seremban June 10th through the 14th. This event will be followed by the Asian Youth Under 19 Championships, and the National Mini Olympic, July 29th through the 30th.
