World Cup Hochfilzen Live

This weekend, December 11^th through the 13^th is the World Cup Hochfilzen, the Biathlon World Cup. Biathlon is an athletic competition where rifle shooting and cross country skiing are combined. This exciting sports allows competitors to shoot from speeding skis at targets. The first Olympic Competition for this event was back in 1924 and in 1943 the first governing body was formed, the UIPMB or Union Internationale de Pentathlon et Biathlon. This is an exciting event to watch and takes real skill and control.

The Biathlon World Cup competitions start in November and December and extend until March. We are just beginning the season with the World Cup Hochfilzen live, and the overall champions for the past season were Ole Einar Bjorndalen, in first place, as well as first place the previous year, and Tomasz Sikora from Poland in second. Third place in the overall was taken by Emil Hegle Svendsen. Don't miss this competition.
