World Cup Pokljuka Live

The Biathlon World Cup Pokljuka Live will be Thursday, December 17^th through Sunday, December 20^th and it features some of the best in this sport. If you aren't familiar with how Biathlon works its a combination of two sports in the Nordic category, rifle shooting and cross country skiing. The Biathlon is a sport with an illustrious history dating back to the 1800's when the sport was used to train soldiers in Norway. The sport was introduced at the 1924 Winter Olympic Games under a completely different name – Military Patrol.

The sport features many different competitions including the World Cups which are held in December and January as well as the Biathlon World Championships which had their first showing in 1958. Then of course there is the current Winter Olympic Games which still hosts the Biathlon event. Biathlon takes shooting skill and stamina as well as concentration to both propel themselves on the skis and hit a target.
