World Cup Otepaa Live

This weekend, Saturday, January 16^th through Sunday, January 17^th is the World Cup Otepaa, part of the Cross Country Skiing World Cup circuit. The World Cups for Winter sporting events are held annually and features champions and new athletes in these sports competing and practicing for the World Championships, which are held every two years for most sports, as well as the Winter Olympic games, which are held every four years. This happens to be one of those years and the games will be held in Vancouver this year.

If you are a fan of Alpine Skiing then you should know that the sport came from Cross Country skiing, when the idea for ski lifts came about. Cross Country skiing features skiers moving across the snow covered terrain using their ski poles for momentum. This is a popular sport in many countries and part of the Nordic family, which also includes Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined.
