The total area of the race covers about 3,600 kilometers which comes out to be around 2,200 miles and this three week race featuring bicyclists from all around the world is broken up into sections that are called stages, which take a day to complete. The rider that has the lowest time from all of the stages will be declared the winner of the Tour de France.
