Tour du Poitou Charentes is a road bicycle race held annually in the region of Poitou-Charentes, France. It was first held in 1987 and since 2005 it has been organised as a 2.1 event on the UCI Europe Tour. Anthony Roux (FDJ) won stage 1 of the Tour du Poitou Charentes with a clever attack in the closing kilometres. The Frenchman was part of an initial breakaway of 15 riders that animated the day’s racing between Chalais and Royan and he slipped clear of his companions in the finale to take victory. The RadioShack team drove the bunch behind, but it was ultimately Daniele Colli (Ceramica Flamina) who took the sprint for second place ahead of Romain Lemarchand (BigMat-Auber 93).

The 2010 Tour du Poitou-Charentes runs from August 25-27 and there will once again be live streaming video.  Gustav Larsson (Saxo Bank) won the 2009 edition but he is not back to defend.  Riders expected on the start line include:  2007 winner Voeckler, Charteau, Paulinho, Popovych, Rubiera, Sergent, Zubeldia, Geslin, Moinard, Frank, Morabito, Murphy, Feillu B., Casper, Engoulvent. There are two stages Thursday, a morning road stage and an afternoon Time Trial.
