The Ice Speed Skating World Cup Competition in Salt Lake City, Utah is this weekend, December 11^th through the 13^th. If you aren't familiar with the sport of Ice Speed Skating, its a race on skates that requires that skiers race certain distances on skates. The long competition is called Speed Skating, while the shorter is one is short track speed skating. The competition is taken to the Winter Olympics when it is held, and is governed by the ISU. This World Cup event is held in the United States in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The Speed Skating World Cup is held each year and has been since the 1985/86 season. The competitions range between short track, speed skating and marathon skating. There are eight titles that are given out for World Cup event, four for the men's competitions, which include the 1000, 1500, 5000 and 10,000 meters and then four as well for the women, for 500,1000, 1500 and 3000/5000 meters.
