Tuesday and Wednesday January 5th and 6th is the World Cup Bischofshofen which is a Ski Jumping World Cup event that comes in the middle of the Winter sport World Cups. The skiers compete for distances as they fly down ramps as well as being judged for their style. This sport is extremely popular in Scandinavia and in some parts of Europe but other nations enjoy the sport as well and it is one of the sports that players practice for participation in the Winter Olympic Games.

The regular hill competition has skiers jumping to around 350 feet and then there is the large hill competition where the skiers are 360 to 430 feet. There are also flying hill competitions and the sport begin around 1810 in Norway, the first event held in 1862. The Winter Olympics hosted the sport in 1924 and this is one of the World Cup events that several sports have over the winter months.
