This weekend Ski Jumping takes to the slopes as we approach the Winter Olympics in Vancouver on February 12th through the 28th. This will be the 21st edition of this competition, held every four years and the World Cup events such as the one at Innsbruck is a preparatory event for this Olympic Competition. The Innsbruck event is unique because the Large Hill competition was first included in the Olympic Games in 1864. The World Cup Innsbruck is Saturday, January 2nd and Sunday January 3rd

Ski Jumping has competitors flying down a ramp to reach the farthest distance, but not only are they judged on how far they make their jump but also on their with how much style they do it with. The regular competition is called the Normal Hill competition and the skiers also compete in the large hill events.
