Gstaad Grand Slam 2009 Live

Well another event from the Swatch FIVB World Tour 2009 is upon us with the 1 to 1 energy Grand Slam in Gstaad this coming Tuesday, and the event runs all the way through until Sunday. Beach Volleyball at its finest will be displayed on the Gstaad stage and the tour runs from March through to November, so we are just at the midway point of the season and you can watch all of the live beach volleyball action, as well as hundreds of other sporting events right here on Live Sports Event.

The Grand Slams are just beginning with the 1 to 1 energy Grand Slam in Gstaad. Last year the Gstaad event boasted a prize pool of $600,000 in U.S. Dollars and there will be fans coming from around the world as well as from Switzerland, where the event will be played.

Last year was also the year for the Olympic Games, and after thirty or so qualifying events the two weeks of Grand Slams after that prepared the competitors for the Olympics. The Gstaad event is for both women and men, and the players will be ready to take on their challengers and compete fiercely for points and titles from June 7^th to the 12^th at the gorgeous mountain resort of Gstaad.

Last year the men's semis took place between Harley and Pedro of Brazil against Alison and Emanuel of the same nation, and Harley and Pedro took it 2-1, while Nummerdor and Schuil took on Russians Barsouk and Kilodinsky and won that game 2-1 as well. That put those two winning teams together in the final with the Brazilian team of Harley and Pedro winning the final 2-1.

 In the women's Xue and Zhang, the Chinese pair went up against Ana Paula and Skekla from Brazil, the latter winning 2-1 and Tian Jia and Wang taking on Cook and Barnett from Australia, with Tian Jia and Wang winning it in two easy set 2-0. The finals had Ana Paula and Shekla taking Brazil to the top with another easy 2-0 final score. Get your membership to watch this year's exciting tournament.
