Well the Grand Slams are over for the FIVB SWATCH Beach Volleyball Tour but there are still a few tournaments to go, and one of those is the Otera Open, in Kristiansand, Poland August 11th through the 16th. This has been a great season with a total of $7.7 million dollars set aside for this tournament and much of that awarded already, with the calendar featuring twenty different locations in seventeen countries within the FIVB Confederations of Asia, Europe and South America. 222 men's and women's teams from forty different countries entered to play in at least one of the 2009 tournament stops.

In this particular tournament on the men's side, twenty seven nations have entered teams, with Norway taking up the biggest chunk of that bring eleven themselves. The top seeds for the men are dominated by two nations for the top few spots, Germany and Brazil. The top seed is the German team of Brink and Reckermann while Harley and Alison from Brazil are second. Third is another Brazilian team, Ricardo and Emanuel, and then Germany's Klemperer-Koreng in fourth place. Fifth is Brazil again with Bejamin and Pedro. Heyer and Heuscher take six and Herrera and Lario from Spain are seventh.

As for the women's side it is once again Brazil and Germany dominating the top spots on the main draw, but mostly Brazil taking three of the five in the top five. The first seed is Brazil's Talita and Antoneli as well as compatriots Lariss and Juliana. Goller and Ludwig from Germany are third while Ana Paula and Shelda from Brazil are fourth.
