Moscow Grand Slam 2009 Live

For three years in a row the SWATCH FIVB World Tour was in St. Petersburg for a Grand Slam event for both the men and women of professional volleyball. In 2008, that all changed and the tournament moved to Moscow, making a Grand Slam event a first for the women, and for the men – first since back to backs in the capital since 1998 and 1999. This year's event is from Monday, the 13^th to Saturday the 18^th and with your membership you'll get exclusive access to all of the video feeds and high quality streams available right here on Live Sports Event.

Last year, the teams from China and the United States were able to stop the Brazilian winning streaks right in their tracks. Previously, the South American nation had taken all of the men's gold medals in St. Petersburg with three men's champions. However, in the women's it was just Juliana Felisberta Silva and Larissa Franca that took home the three gold medals previously. However, the Brazilians were disappointed in 2008, with Russia and the U.S. taking their own Gold Medals. This year, the event will once again be held in Moscow, called the Moscow Grand Slam.

Russia had to be happy just to be included in the 2008 Grand Slam, as this was their first time back on the SWATCH FIVB World Tour Calendar since 1994, with the Goodwill Games that took place in St. Petersburg, Russia. That year it was the United States and Norway that took the gold medals, Norway with the men's and the U.S. with the women's winners. Don't miss the 2009 Moscow Grand Slam.
