These World Championships are held every two years, with the previous final in 2007, held in Gstaad, and this year, the finals come to you live from Stavanger, Norway June 25th through July 6th.

There are twelve pools for the men's competition, each consisting of four players from various nations. Names like Heyer, Wu, Yin, Mesa and Doppler make up the men's pools, and the women's has twelve as well, all in the same format. Last year, the event at Gstaad had Ana Paula and Shelda winning the Gold, Tian and Wang with the Silver and Xue and Zhang with the Bronze medal for the women's competition. The men's winners were Brazil's Harley and Salgado with the Gold medal, The Netherland's Nummerdor and Schuil taking the silver and Alison and Emannual of Brazil with the Bronze.

Beach Volleyball is an Olympic Event as well, with the top competitors qualifying to participate in that prestigious event.
