USA National Swimming Championships 2010 Live

The 2010 ConocoPhillips USA National Championships of Swimming Diving Waterpolo Live will be held from Aug 4^th to Aug 7^th 2010 at the William Woollett Jr. Aquatics Center in Irvine, California.  The event will also serve as trials for numerous events, including the 2010 Mutual of Omaha Pan Pacific Championships to be held in Irvine later in August.  Come watch the top swimmers from across the nation rip up the water under the bright California sun. Ryan Lochte, Michael Phelps, Katie Hoff and new American talent will all be battling it out for a spot on the international stage.  The competition will once again be televised nationally by NBC. Rebecca Soni, is the top breaststroker on the U.S. women’s team. She won gold and silver at the 2009 WorldChampionships , and netted 11 titles in six meets on the 2009-10 Grand Prix circuit. Hardy, on the other hand, has become a serious threat in the stroke mainly the 100m. The 2010 Nationals is her biggest meet since returning from a doping suspension that stemmed from a positive test at the 2008 Olympic Trials. The pair is sure to put on a show in this week Irvine, Calif.

Ryan Lochte, the owner of six Olympic medals (three gold), told us in June that he was not 100 percent healthy after an unfortunate break dancing incident last fall did damage to his left knee. It was preventing him from swimming breaststroke, so the individual medleys were off the table. It’s now August, and Lochte is entered in nine events — including the 200m and 400m IM — at this week’s NationalChampionships. Surely he won’t qualify for (or choose to swim in) all nine finals, but his IM prelim swims will say a lot.
