Floorball Live

We'll have all the floorball you want to watch right here at www.livesportsevent.com, including the World Floorball Championships in December and May. Floorball has been around since the 1970's and is most popular in Sweden, Finland, Switzerland and the Czech Republic. The game is played indoors on a gym floor and is sometimes called Floor Hockey. The tournaments are ran by the International Floorball Federation and all of the four countries above have placed in the championships.

The Championships consist of four tournament, the Men's, Women's, Men's under 19 and Women's under 19, and the next event will be held in 2010. The regular men's and women's tourneys take place in December, while the under nineteen tournaments happen in May. 

Previously the format for the World Championships split the teams into two divisions – A and B. The top scored team in Division B moved to Division A, while the lowest scored team in Division A moved down. However, in 2010 The IFF has decided to change the format to one that is more consistant with FIFA formats, where teams qualify to play at the championships. In 2010, Argentina, Canada, Brazil and the U.S. will play for a single spot in the championships, as the qualifications are restricted to a minimal places in the tournament, based upon the number of countries that have registered.
