IRB Junior World Championships Live

The International Rugby Board hosts the Junior World Championships each year for those up and coming Rugby stars aged 20 and under. The first of these tournaments was held in 2008 and it was hosted by Wales in June of that year. This event takes the place of the Under 19 and Under 21 World Championships. This event is available right here on LSE as well as nearly 20 of the other Rugby events that happen throughout the year and you can be right there watching them all live with your membership.

The Junior World Championship is the higher level of the a new structure that the IRB implemented for U-20 nations, launching a lower level championship called the IRB Junior World Rugby Trophy at the same time that features eight teams. The first event was hosted by Chile and was held in Santiago in 2007.

The previous host nation was Wales and the third place match-up happened between South Africa and Wales, with Wales taking fourth place with and South Africa third, the final score of the game being 43-18. The finals happened between New Zealand and England, who received a very embarrassing beating at New Zealand's hands, 38-3. The 2009 Finals will be hosted by Japan and Argentina will host the finals in 2010.

Pool A in the Junior World Championships consists of New Zealand, Ireland, Argentina and Uruguay with New Zealand at the top with three wins and fourteen points. Uruguay has had the same number of losses and sit at the bottom of pool A. Pool B is England, Samoa, Scotland and Japan with England on top with fifteen points. Pool C is South Africa, France, Fiji and Italy, South Africa in the lead, Pool D with Australia, Wales, Tonga and Canada with Australia currently leading with three wins and fifteen points.
