K-1 is a sport that combines the different styles of Muay Thai, Taekwondo, Kickboxing, Regular Boxing, Karate, Savate, San Shou and other martial arts to determine the winner of the title of the Best Stand Up fighter in the world, which is what the “1” in K-1 stands for. 

Anyone who loves combat sports will be on the edge of their seats as K-1 fighters compete in many different styles determining each year who is the toughest, most skilled stand-up fighter on the planet. K-1 is ran by the Fighting and Entertainment Group, or FEG, and they organize mixed martial arts events, and other events around the world. 

There are going to be some exciting events this year, the most recent one taking place at the Marine Messe in Fukuoka, Japan. It was called the K-1 World MAX 2009 World Championship Tournament Final 16. More than 7000 people attended the event and the winners qualified for the K-1 World MAX 2008 to be allowed to compete in this tourney. 

The next tournament will be the K-1 Rumble of the Kings 2009 and will take place in Malmo, Sweden on May 22^nd. Also this year is the K-1 World Grand Prix on May 23^rd in Lodz, Poland and the K-1 World Max 2009 World Championship in Tokyo, final 8. Sometime in October, the K-1 World Max 2009 World Championship final will be held, with the Dynamite 2009 tourney on December 31^st in Japan. To watch any of these fights or tourneys, you can click any of the links on this page and get your membership to www.livesportsevent.com.
